Uijeongbu-si, Night Joint Crackdown on 'Illegal Activities such as Motorcycle Noise'
Most Illegal Delivery Motorcycles Caught
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Uijeongbu City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 15th that it has jointly cracked down on major violations such as "illegal structural modifications of motorcycles" in cooperation with the police and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
According to the city, since September, from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, 120 motorcycles were inspected on Pyeonghwa-ro in front of Uijeongbu Station, resulting in a total of 17 violations including 4 cases of noise violations, 9 cases of unauthorized lighting installation, and 4 cases of illegal attachments and license plate contamination.
The enforcement team will impose penalties according to the Automobile Management Act and the Noise and Vibration Control Act: illegal structural modifications may result in imprisonment for up to one year or fines up to 10 million KRW, and two-wheeled vehicles exceeding the noise regulation standard of 105 dB (decibels) will face administrative fines up to 1 million KRW.
