According to major foreign media on the 13th (local time), David Masias (37), a nurse, and Daniel Masias (39), a former middle school teacher, who lived in Ukiah, California, died after battling COVID-19.
The couple tested positive for COVID-19 after taking a vacation to an indoor water park and the beach at the end of July with their four children aged 7, 5, 3, and 2, before their youngest daughter was born. The young children recovered quickly, but the couple's condition worsened, and they were hospitalized one after another.
While receiving treatment in the intensive care unit relying on a ventilator, the wife, David, gave birth to their youngest daughter via cesarean section on the 18th of last month, and passed away on the 26th, eight days after giving birth. The bereaved family stated that David died without meeting her newborn daughter.
Later, the husband Daniel also passed away on the 9th, following his wife. It is reported that he died without even knowing that his wife had passed away first, which has caused much sorrow among many people.
