This forum was organized to discover new business opportunities for the domestic machine industry and seek sustainable growth plans in response to the rapidly changing management environment, such as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and carbon neutrality, as a global supply chain restructuring is expected.
Park Jin-gyu, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said in his congratulatory speech, "Our machine industry is expected to achieve exports of 50 billion dollars, maintaining the level of previous years despite the COVID-19 situation," and urged, "All machine industry stakeholders should discuss and participate together to effectively respond to global supply chain restructuring, carbon neutrality, and digital transformation issues."
The event, held simultaneously online and offline, featured keynote speeches on ESG and carbon neutrality, explanations of government policies, and presentations of corporate cases. Following the keynote speech by Woo Tae-hee, Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Son Dong-yeon, CEO of Hyundai Doosan Infracore and Chairman of the Korea Machine Industry Promotion Association, introduced his company's ESG information and climate change response cases.
