Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Holds Meeting on the '2020 Revised Curriculum'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to proactively respond to the ‘2022 Revised Curriculum’ next year by developing a ‘Jeonnam Curriculum’ tailored to the local context together with on-site teachers.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 14th, on the 13th, a meeting was held in a small conference room within the office building with 386 teachers from the province and representatives of the Jeonnam Curriculum On-site Network (hereafter On-site Network) to discuss the direction for developing the ‘Jeonnam Curriculum.’
Attending the meeting were 16 officials including Jo Jeong-ja, Director of Policy Coordination, Wi Kyung-jong, Director of Education, as well as heads and team leaders from the Policy Planning Division, Innovation Education Division, Elementary Education Division, Secondary Education Division, the Director of the Jeollanam-do Education Research and Information Institute, and the Director of the Education Research Institute.
The meeting discussed broad support measures from the Office of Education, including activation support for the ‘Jeonnam Curriculum On-site Network’ to localize the 2022 Revised Curriculum and the establishment of curriculum governance.
The development of the Jeonnam Curriculum is centered on the On-site Network, which includes teachers and education professionals, spreading voluntarily among teachers. Going forward, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to form the ‘Jeonnam Curriculum Development Promotion Team’ to provide policy support.
