Namwon-si Conducts 'Influenza Vaccination'
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on this day that it will conduct 'influenza vaccination' starting from the 14th to prevent the spread of influenza infection.
The free national vaccination targets are children aged 6 months to under 13 years, pregnant women, and seniors aged 65 and over.
As a free project by Namwon City, free vaccinations are also supported for those aged 60 to 64, basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, persons with disabilities, national merit recipients and veterans, multicultural families, and single-parent families.
The recommended vaccination period is from October to December. For first-time vaccinees aged 6 months to under 9 years, vaccination starts from this day and requires two doses at 4-week intervals. Those requiring only one dose will start from the 14th of next month, and to distribute the vaccination concentration, seniors aged 65 and over will begin vaccination from the 12th of next month.
To disperse the concentrated vaccination period (October to November), reservations can be made in advance through the vaccination pre-reservation system or call center, or by visiting medical institutions for proxy reservations and vaccination.
Also, due to COVID-19 vaccination implementation, the number of vaccinations per medical institution is limited to 100 people per one pre-examination doctor, so it is necessary to check vaccination availability before visiting.
When visiting vaccination institutions, identification (for pregnant women, maternity notebooks or pregnancy confirmation documents) must be brought.
In addition to public health centers, vaccinations can be received at 44 designated (consigned) medical institutions, so free vaccination recipients are encouraged to safely receive vaccinations at medical institutions they usually use.
Children and pregnant women can receive vaccinations at public health centers, branches, and clinics from the 14th of next month, and seniors and free/paid targets at public health centers can receive vaccinations at the Namwon City Vaccination Center starting November 1st, so vaccination locations and schedules must be confirmed in advance before visiting.
A public health center official said, "A certain level of citizen vaccination is necessary to form herd immunity and suppress outbreaks," and added, "To prevent COVID-19 infection and ensure safe vaccination, please follow personal hygiene rules such as wearing masks when visiting medical institutions."
