[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] South Korea's eternal innovation movement, the 'Saemaul Undong,' has arrived on university campuses.
Dongmyung University signed a non-face-to-face business agreement with the Saemaul Undong Central Association on the 10th. It is a call to bring the spirit of the Saemaul Undong, which laid the foundation for Korea's modernization, back to the campus in the advanced era.
The Saemaul Undong is a poverty eradication and community development movement that began in 1970 with the slogan "Let's live well." After half a century, this movement has been recalled to universities for innovation in higher education and local communities.
The university stated that it partnered with the Saemaul Undong to encourage students' participation in contributing to national and regional development.
Dongmyung University and the Central Association will jointly promote △organic cooperation for smooth human exchange △mutual cooperation to achieve carbon neutrality △training next-generation leaders for future leadership △support for establishing university student Saemaul Undong clubs on campus △collaboration on domestic and international Saemaul Undong volunteer programs △participation in social service activities to contribute to local communities.
