Seogwipo Coast Guard, Emergency Transport of 30s Udo Resident with Respiratory Distress
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] On the afternoon of the 13th, amid a gale warning in effect, an emergency patient A (female in her 30s, resident of Udo, Jeju City) complaining of chest pain and difficulty breathing was urgently transported.
According to Seogwipo Coast Guard on the 14th, A showed symptoms of chest pain and difficulty breathing since the morning of the previous day and visited Udo Health Center around 5:30 PM. Based on the opinion that transfer to a higher-level medical institution was necessary, an urgent transfer request was made to the Coast Guard.
Upon receiving the report, Seogwipo Coast Guard dispatched the Seongsan Police Station coastal rescue boat to Udo, arriving at Cheonjin Port, Udo around 6 PM. After boarding the patient, they handed over the patient to the 119 ambulance team waiting at Seongsan Port around 6:20 PM.
On that day, a gale warning was in effect over the sea in front of Jeju Island, with strong winds reaching a maximum speed of 14 m/s and high waves of 2.5 to 3 meters, resulting in unfavorable weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the Seogwipo Coast Guard has transported 52 emergency patients so far this year.
