Gwangju Seo-gu Senior Official Suspended Over Allegations of Sexual Harassment Against Female Employee
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A complaint has been filed alleging sexual harassment by a director-level official in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to Seo-gu on the 13th, a complaint was recently filed with the police stating that Director A of Seo-gu made inappropriate physical contact with a female employee.
The police, having initiated an investigation, booked Director A on charges of sexual harassment by abuse of authority in the workplace under the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, and Seo-gu suspended him from his position on the 10th.
It is currently known that Mr. A is not coming to work and is waiting at home.
Seo-gu plans to hold a disciplinary committee and proceed with related procedures once the facts are revealed based on the police investigation results.
