Held for the Development of the Elevator Industry
Prepared to Explore Issues of Elevator Certification System and Seek Institutional Improvement Measures
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Kim Yongpan, a member of the People Power Party (Daegu Dalseo-byeong), announced on the 13th that he will hold the "Elevator Safety Policy Forum with the People."
This forum is jointly hosted by the Korea Elevator Industry Cooperative (Chairman Choi Kangjin) and the Elevator Installation Business Council of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association (Chairman Choi Seonggyun). It will be held on the 15th at the Win-Win Room of the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Korea Federation of SMEs, and the Korea Elevator Safety Agency.
The policy forum was organized to explore the problems of the domestic elevator certification system, which has recently become a social issue, and to seek ways to improve the certification system for the promotion of the elevator industry.
Professor Kang Ingu of Korea Elevator University, who will present at the forum, will discuss "The Current Status of the Elevator Industry and Institutional Improvement Plans for Development," and Song Jongtae, Technical Director of the Korea Elevator Industry Cooperative, will present "Ways to Enhance the Efficiency of the Domestic Certification System Compared to the European EN Standards" with case studies.
Following this, Professor Park Gigwan (Sangji University), president of the Korean Local Autonomy Association, will serve as the moderator, and practical managers from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Korea Elevator Safety Agency, Korea Elevator Industry Cooperative, and the Elevator Installation Business Council of the Korea Specialty Contractors Association will participate as panelists to conduct a "60-minute policy discussion" on the presentations.

As the growth potential of the elevator industry expands in the future, it is necessary to listen to and resolve field difficulties and develop it as a national growth engine, which is why this forum is being held."
