Imsil-gun Implements Comprehensive Chuseok Holiday Measures to Block COVID-19
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Sim Min) announced on the 13th that it will implement comprehensive measures to resolve daily civil complaints and prevent the spread of COVID-19 ahead of Chuseok, the traditional Korean holiday.
The county has prepared and will operate a comprehensive plan from the 18th to the 22nd during the Chuseok holiday period, activating eight sectors centered around the comprehensive situation room: disaster and accident response team, price control situation team, living environment improvement team, water and sewage measures team, traffic measures team, medical, livestock quarantine, and COVID-19 prevention teams.
In addition, by promptly resolving all daily civil complaints occurring during the holiday period, thorough preparations are being made so that all residents can spend a safe and comfortable holiday with their families.
In particular, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the COVID-19 Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and the quarantine response team will operate, maintaining an emergency work system to ensure that screening tests and epidemiological investigations during the holiday period can function normally as usual.
For emergency medical treatment for local residents, the Health and Medical Center emergency room will operate 24 hours, and designated on-duty medical institutions and holiday pharmacies will minimize medical inconveniences.
Details on hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies providing emergency treatment during the holiday period can be obtained from the county Health and Medical Center.
To revitalize the local economy, the county is conducting a 10% discount sale of the local currency, Imsil Sarang Gift Certificates, and promoting increased local consumption for the holiday through traditional market shopping events held with local companies and organizations.
Non-face-to-face online sales events for agricultural and specialty products will also be promoted to support local farmers who are struggling to secure sales channels.
For low-income groups, various support policies will be implemented, including providing living expenses, goods, and Imsil-type disaster relief funds, so that all residents can have a warm Chuseok holiday.
Governor Sim Min said, “My heart grows heavy every time I hear the voices and see the difficulties of residents suffering from COVID-19,” adding, “We will make every effort to ensure residents have a safe and enjoyable Chuseok holiday and to revive the local economy.”
He added, “Although many are struggling due to COVID-19, I ask everyone to strictly follow quarantine rules for the sake of their neighbors.”
