This system was built using the group video call support app (Nareul Application) provided by KT, offering smartphones and portable 43-inch large TVs to enable video visits for up to eight people simultaneously.
Without a separate visitation space, the video screen can be freely moved, allowing visits at any time. Elderly residents can see their families' faces on a large screen, and multiple people can be viewed simultaneously, which is expected to receive a positive response.
Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “As COVID-19 prolongs, elderly residents in care facilities and their families are experiencing the great pain of long-term separation,” adding, “We will make further efforts to support communication and emotional stability among families through non-face-to-face video visits.”
Meanwhile, Sinan-gun is making every effort to prevent COVID-19 cluster infections by conducting proactive weekly comprehensive testing for elderly care facility workers, blocking external visitors from entering facilities, checking body temperatures, and daily monitoring of quarantine compliance.

Additionally, from the 13th to the 26th, including the Chuseok holiday, in-person visits to elderly care facilities will be allowed for two weeks. However, contact visits are only permitted if both the resident and visitor have completed vaccination at least 14 days prior, and visitors must comply with visitation rules such as making prior reservations, submitting vaccination certificates, and refraining from food consumption.
