NongHyup Financial and Korea University Sign MOU for AI Collaboration

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] NongHyup Financial Group announced on the 10th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation to jointly research artificial intelligence for promoting NongHyup Financial Group's digital transformation (DT) and to cultivate digital talents.
The signing ceremony held at Korea University Anam Campus was attended by Lee Sang-rae, Head of Digital Strategy Division at NongHyup Financial Group, and Cho Seok-ju, Director of Korea University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, among others.
Through this MOU, both institutions will conduct joint research on effective ways to provide financial services using artificial intelligence.
At the ceremony, Lee Sang-rae, Head of Digital Strategy Division at NongHyup Financial Group, said, "This agreement will give a stronger momentum to NongHyup Financial Group's DT promotion," adding, "We expect that the synergy between employees' work experience and Korea University's research capabilities will enable us to provide differentiated financial service experiences to NongHyup customers."
He also stated, "We have high expectations for Korea University, which is emerging as a leading digital education institution by establishing the country's first AI graduate school," and added, "We will continue to innovate to become a company leading digital finance by boldly investing in cultivating digital experts who will lead NongHyup Financial Group."

Cho Seok-ju, Director of Korea University, said, "This MOU expresses the will to establish the direction of follow-up projects and promote cooperation between the two institutions," and added, "Especially, the fintech field has very high development potential, and by utilizing Korea University's infrastructure, NongHyup Financial Group and Korea University will create proud cases that produce socially necessary outcomes."
