Hanwha Systems Collaborates with Militech Startups for Mutual Growth... Promoting Open Innovation
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hanwha Systems announced on the 8th that it will promote the 'CONNECT:H' open innovation program to discover and nurture defense technology innovation startups and establish a win-win cooperation network.
First, on the same day, Hanwha Systems signed a 'Mutual Research and Development and Business Cooperation System Establishment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)' with two startups in the unmanned autonomy field, Pablo Aviation and Linkflow.
Pablo Aviation is a startup that possesses remote control technology capable of stable and precise swarm flight of unmanned aerial vehicles. Linkflow specializes in neckband-type wearable cameras and panoramic image synthesis for ground combat systems and was the first in the world to develop a 360-degree wearable camera.
Hanwha Systems conducted recruitment for the CONNECT:H program targeting about 50 millitech (military technology) related companies and selected nine finalists. The selection process was conducted together with NP15 Partners, a startup investment and nurturing company. Among the selected startups were Retinal, which develops 'HMD (Head Mounted Display)' devices worn on the head for aircraft pilot use and ground equipment control, as well as Linkflow, Pablo Aviation, and Lambda Innovation. Hanwha Systems and the nine startups will proceed with agreements sequentially as business cooperation becomes visible.
Hanwha Systems will support their business growth by providing consulting, professional education, commercialization support, and follow-up investment opportunities, and will carry out various projects such as joint technology development and cooperation in future challenge defense technology development projects.
