CJ OnStyle Launches Sports Specialty Program 'Active Market'
Carefully Selected Sports Products Presented Amid the 'Athleisure Look' Craze
First Broadcast on the 11th at 7:30 PM, Total of 10 Episodes Scheduled
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] CJ OnStyle announced on the 8th that it will launch 'Active Market,' a sportswear specialty program showcasing camping outdoor looks and golf wear infused with the 'athleisure trend.' Starting from the 11th, the program will carefully select and present trend-leading sports products every Saturday at 7:30 PM.
'Athleisure' is a portmanteau of 'athletic' and 'leisure,' referring to sportswear that can be used both for exercise and everyday life. According to the Korea Fashion Industry Research Institute, the domestic athleisure market, which was worth 1.5 trillion KRW in 2016, rapidly grew to 3 trillion KRW last year, doubling in just two years.
'Active Market' will feature CJ OnStyle’s leading show hosts 'Lee Min-woong' and 'Lee Sol-ji,' who will introduce trendy sports products. The first broadcast will unveil the 'EBTEK' lineup from the American outdoor brand 'Eddie Bauer' and introduce the fall new product 'EBTEK Woven Setup.' Eddie Bauer’s EBTEK line, originally launched in 1996 as an 'active wear' line, was reborn for the 2020 FW season in line with the newtro trend. The new product consists of a hooded jacket and tapered jogger pants made from high-performance fabric.
On the 25th, the program will feature 'FILA FW New Reversible Fleece,' and in October, brands such as 'Jean-Michel Basquiat' and 'Timberland' will be showcased. Over the course of 10 episodes, key new products from major brands will be presented consecutively.
To celebrate the launch of 'Active Market,' the company will give an 'Eddie Bauer Tumbler' to customers who purchase products during the live broadcast. Participants who leave messages through CJ OnStyle’s mobile chat service 'Live Talk' will be entered into a draw to win chicken gift coupons for 50 people.
On the 19th, CJ OnStyle Plus (T-commerce) will newly launch 'S Leisure Club,' which incorporates the athleisure trend. Every Sunday at 7:45 AM, it will propose various sports fashions that can be worn both for leisure activities such as golf and outdoor sports and in daily life. The first broadcast will feature Puma’s fall new products.
