Over 100 Out-of-School Youth in Jeonju Pass the GED Exam
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] It has been reported that over 110 out-of-school youths in the Jeonju area passed the qualification exam this year.
The Jeonju Out-of-School Youth Support Center (Director Jeong Hye-seon, hereafter Jeonju Dream) announced on the 6th that out of 67 youths who took the 2nd qualification exam held on the 11th of last month, 66 passed, achieving a pass rate of 98.5%.
With this, Jeonju Dream recorded a total of 114 passers this year, including 48 who passed the 1st qualification exam in April, achieving a pass rate of 99.1%.
Jeonju Dream explained that this achievement was due to their operational know-how, combining problem-solving of past exam questions and basic concept education, which resulted in high satisfaction and performance among the youths.
In the qualification exam preparation class called ‘Smart Classroom,’ they focused on solving past qualification exam questions from 2016 to 2020 and explaining concepts. All youths who participated in the Smart Classroom passed the qualification exam, proving the effectiveness of the learning.
Additionally, Jeonju Dream provided 1-on-1 mentoring, online lectures, and support for qualification exam academy fees to youths lacking basic learning abilities.
Director Jeong Hye-seon said, “I am pleased with the good results in obtaining academic qualifications through the qualification exam, which serves as a stepping stone for the independence of out-of-school youths,” and added, “We will continue to work hard with all staff and mentor teachers in the process of advancing to university.”
Meanwhile, Jeonju Dream operates free programs for out-of-school youths, including counseling support, educational support, job experience and vocational training, and independence support.
Youths wishing to participate can apply through the Jeonju Dream website or the Jeonju Out-of-School Youth Support Center.
