Government "Considering Expanding Additional Benefits for Fully Vaccinated Individuals"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] The government announced that it is considering expanding additional benefits for those who have completed COVID-19 vaccination to accelerate the vaccination pace.
Jeon Hae-cheol, the 2nd Deputy Head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH), said in his opening remarks at the CDSCH meeting on the 5th, "The number of people who have completed the first dose exceeded 30 million (58.4%) this morning," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that 36 million people receive the first dose before Chuseok and that 70% of the entire population completes vaccination by October through planned vaccine procurement."
He emphasized, "We will also consider expanding additional benefits for those who have completed vaccination, such as partial easing of quarantine rules due to increased vaccination rates," and added, "Specifically, the government is devising ways to minimize the delivery time from the vaccine procurement point to vaccination sites nationwide to further accelerate the vaccination speed."
The government plans to deploy 40 additional vaccine transport vehicles and extend Saturday delivery hours from 3 PM to 6 PM, adding 3 more hours. Through this, it aims to complete on-site delivery within three days after vaccine arrival.
