[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Seokjin Moon) will hold the "Seodaemun-gu Welfare 100 Festival" at 3 p.m. on the 7th, the 22nd Social Welfare Day, with 100 participants including workers from about 70 social welfare institutions and facilities in the area, representatives from academia, public institutions, welfare organizations, and residents.
Since 2011, the district has held social welfare fairs annually at Hongjecheon Waterfall Square and Sinchon Yonsei-ro.
This year, following last year, the event is organized as a non-face-to-face event where 100 welfare representatives communicate in real-time online to share the vision of the local welfare community and pledge to realize the value of social welfare.
The first part will proceed with awards for social welfare meritorious persons, awards for resident participation contests, and screening of on-site interview videos. The videos include voices of about 30 people such as social welfare workers, volunteers, and residents.
The second part consists of a public-private-academic agreement ceremony, a neighborhood welfare university agreement ceremony, presentations of excellent cases of neighbor care, and a social welfare practice pledge performance.
Participants in the public-private-academic agreement ceremony include Hong Gi-yoon, president of the Dong Community Security Council Federation (resident), Choi Ae-young, president of the Seodaemun-gu Social Welfare Council (private), Seokjin Moon, mayor of Seodaemun-gu (public), and Sangmi Jo, professor at Ewha Womans University and chairperson of the Seodaemun Community Security Council (academia), who are the main driving forces of the local welfare community.
The event will be held using the large screen of the Smart Space inside the Seodaemun-gu Lifelong Learning Center and Convergence Talent Education Center (49, Yeonhui-ro 36-gil).
The 100 welfare representatives will participate in real-time using the online video conferencing program (Zoom). Also, anyone can watch the festival by searching "Seodaemun-gu Social Welfare Fair" on YouTube.
