View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] From midnight to 9 p.m. on the 3rd, Seoul reported a provisional total of 550 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over 21 hours, according to the Seoul Metropolitan Government. This is 10 more cases than the previous day and 14 more than last Friday (the 27th of last month) for the same time period. The total number of confirmed cases for the entire day was 542 on the 2nd and 569 on the 27th of last month.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul has set new records four times since the start of the fourth wave this summer: July 6 (582 cases), July 13 (637 cases), August 10 (660 cases), and August 24 (677 cases). On August 31, the number was also high at 665 cases. The average daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul over the past fifteen days (August 19 to September 2), including both weekends and weekdays, was 529.
As of 6 p.m. on the 3rd, among the 550 new confirmed cases in Seoul, 2 were imported cases and the remaining 548 were domestic infections.

As of this time, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul stands at 81,669. Among them, 9,126 patients are currently in isolation and treatment, and 71,864 patients have been discharged after being declared recovered. The cumulative death toll has risen to 590.
