Additional Special Envoy Appointments for Labor, Religion, and Culture
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol announced the Labor Special Advisory Group on the 3rd, including Kim Ju-ik, former Chief Standing Commissioner of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions (KFTU). In addition, former party economic experts such as Lee Hye-hoon, Na Sung-rin, and Kim Hyun-sook were appointed as special advisors or special committee chairpersons.
On the 3rd, Yoon’s presidential campaign stated, "Along with Special Advisor Kim Ju-ik, we have appointed Kim Han-sung (former Chairman of KFTU Chungbuk Regional Headquarters), Lee Hae-soo (former Chairman of KFTU Busan Regional Headquarters), Heo Won (Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member, former Chairman of KFTU Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters), Lee Myung-hee (former Chairman of KFTU Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters), Kim Im-hyung (former Chairman of KFTU Gangwon Regional Headquarters), Choi Eung-sik (current Chairman of the Korean Workers’ Union of U.S. Forces Korea and Senior Vice Chairman of the National Foreign Institutions Federation), and Kim Ki-woong (Head of Organization and Policy at KFTU Daegu Regional Headquarters) as special advisors," they announced.
A large number of former party lawmakers were appointed as economic special advisors and others. Former lawmaker Na Sung-rin was appointed as the Standing Economic Special Advisor, former lawmaker Kim Hyun-sook as Head of Employment and Welfare Policy Headquarters, former lawmaker Kim Jeong-rok as Disability Policy Special Advisor, former lawmaker Kim Jang-sil as Culture Special Advisor, former lawmaker Kim Sung-tae as Senior Citizen Policy Special Advisor, and former lawmaker Kim Yong-nam as Political Affairs Special Advisor. Additionally, former Chungnam National University President Jeong Sang-cheol was appointed as Education Policy Special Advisor, Ewha Womans University Professor Lee Myung-sun as Health Policy Special Advisor, former National Intelligence Service Chief of Staff Ahn Kwang-bok as Security Special Advisor, former Gwangjin Cultural Foundation President Kim Yong-gi as Cultural Policy Special Advisor, former Korean Bar Association Public Relations Officer Kang Shin-up as Media and Communications Special Advisor, Park Yosep, Standing Representative of the National Integration Nationwide Network, as Religious Special Advisor (Christianity), and Jeong Byeong-guk, Chair of the National Policy Advisory Committee’s National Culture Promotion Special Committee, as Religious Special Advisor (Buddhism).
Furthermore, to strengthen policy capabilities, the National Future Strategy Special Committee was established with former lawmaker Lee Hye-hoon appointed as chairperson. Former lawmakers Kwak Dae-hoon and Lim Dong-gyu were appointed as co-chairs of the Future Local Autonomy Development Committee. Professor Cho Young-dal of the Department of Social Education at Seoul National University was appointed to the Education Special Committee.
