Seongdong-gu Hosts Online Festival 'Seongdong Hell(low)s(mile) Club'
On the Occasion of Youth Day This Month, Online Youth Festival 'Seongdong Hell(low)s(mile) Club' Held from 3rd to 5th...Various Attractions Planned and Participated by Youth, Live Broadcast to Encourage Youth Interest and Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) will hold an online festival, "Seongdong Hell(ow) Smile Club," from the 3rd to the 5th of this month in celebration of Youth Day.
The event, which begins with a congratulatory message in Gather Town, a virtual reality version of Seongdong-gu, and an opening performance by the youth band "Doowap Sound," offers various attractions planned and participated in directly by young people, including vlogs showcasing youth life and the esports tournament "Seongdong KartRider Game Broadcast."
First, a live broadcast program will be held to increase youth interest and participation, featuring "What Are You Doing at Home? Home Stay Classes," which include making "My Own Scent and Accessories" and "Home Training" with professional instructors, as well as an online quiz challenge, "Challenge, Seongdong Youth Golden Bell!"
Opportunities will also be provided for young people to showcase their skills in dance and other talents they have honed. Various talents and works such as dance, singing, and acting, produced by the youth themselves, will be streamed during the festival period through prior preparation.
Additionally, a special lecture by youth CEO Doti (CEO of Sandbox) will share vivid stories about his growth process and startup journey, providing an on-site experience of the life of a young entrepreneur. This session will also include introductions of stories and counseling time for many young people preparing for entrepreneurship as well as those aspiring to become creators, offering a chance to empathize and communicate with each other.
This festival was prepared for young people who are going through a more difficult time than ever. To make up for the disappointment of last year's youth festival, which could not be held due to COVID-19, a separate youth festival planning team composed of youth policy network members held free idea meetings last month to prepare programs that stimulate interest and expand participation tailored to their sensibilities.
The district focuses on the fact that the 2030 generation, known as the so-called "MZ generation," accounts for 94,717 young people, making up 33% of the total population in the area, and that youth households account for 45% of all single-person households. Accordingly, various policies such as "Moving Vehicle Support," "Half-Price Brokerage Fee Service," and "Career Program Operation" are being supported.
In July, the district appointed three young and passionate youth account holders in their 30s in Yongdap-dong and plans to continuously create opportunities to encourage voluntary community participation and communication among young people.
"Seongdong Hell(ow) Smile Club" can be comfortably enjoyed anywhere through a live broadcast on the Seongdong-gu Youth Support Center YouTube channel.

Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "This festival was prepared for young people who are going through a more difficult time than ever due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," and added, "I hope young people fully enjoy this time."
