Wanju-gun, Samnye-ri in Samnye-eup Urban Regeneration as the 'Harmony Samnye University Town'

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju-gun announced on the 2nd that it will promote a project under the theme "Samnye University Village of Happier Harmony with One University Alley" for Samnye-ri, Samnye-eup, which was selected for the preliminary urban regeneration project.

According to the county, Samnye-ri, Samnye-eup was finally selected in the "2021 Preliminary Urban Regeneration Project Contest" hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in December last year, securing a total project budget of 150 million KRW including national funds.

The preliminary urban regeneration project corresponds to the preparation stage of the Urban Regeneration New Deal project.

Accordingly, Wanju-gun plans to promote the project under the theme "Samnye University Village of Happier Harmony with One University Alley," focusing on building a win-win cultural network among residents, universities, and stores by utilizing the advantage of having Woosuk University, a local university, located there.

The project will proceed in three main directions: △ creating a university street that anyone wants to visit △ creating a village landscape together with local residents △ operating a customized resident participation urban regeneration project team.

To this end, Wanju-gun recently held urban regeneration-related education and residents' meetings for local residents.
