DB Insurance Selects 5 Ventures for 3rd Traffic and Environment Challenge
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] DB Insurance announced on the 2nd that it has finally selected five teams for the third cohort of the social venture program 'Transportation?Environment Challenge 3rd Cohort,' aimed at solving social issues in the transportation and environmental sectors, in collaboration with the Korea Productivity Center.
From June 28 to July 23, over approximately four weeks, teams were recruited, with a total of 120 social ventures applying. After document screening, the first round of face-to-face interviews, and presentation evaluations, five social ventures were ultimately selected.
DB Insurance, the Productivity Center, the Ministry of Environment, and Underdogs jointly participated, focusing on evaluating the feasibility of solving social problems and the potential for creating social value through the business solutions proposed by the participating teams.
The selected ventures are Netspar, a company recycling discarded fishing nets; Nutri Industry, a company recycling food waste into pig feed; Mobawheel, an AI-based integrated road information and traffic safety solution company; Infy, a company providing a non-face-to-face alcohol body temperature measurement system to prevent drunk driving accidents; and Tobos, a company offering a distribution solution for surplus construction materials within construction waste.
DB Insurance plans to provide business support funds and one-on-one accelerating support in core startup competencies such as legal affairs, taxation, accounting, and marketing for the social ventures selected in the third cohort. Additionally, it has prepared corporate diagnosis and follow-up education programs to support the continuous growth of the second cohort companies selected last year.
