The Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge Campaign is a public participation campaign led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety since December last year. It aims to spread a culture of traffic safety to prevent accidents in school zones and prioritize child protection. Participants take photos holding signs with the children's traffic safety slogan "Stop at 1, Look both ways at 2, Wait for 3 seconds, Prevent with 4 actions" and then nominate the next participant.
Chief Park Juhyun stated, "We will make continuous efforts to prevent traffic accidents in school zones to foster a mature traffic culture where children, the future leaders, can grow up safely." He added, "Especially, while facility improvements and police enforcement are important for children's traffic safety, defensive driving is necessary to prevent accidents. I urge adults to be particularly careful to protect precious lives."
