Professor Kang Ho-cheol of Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital Elected President of the Korean Thyroid Association
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Professor Kang Ho-cheol of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital has been elected as the 8th President of the Korean Thyroid Association.
President Kang is the first from outside the metropolitan area, and his term is two years from September 1, 2021, to August 31, 2023.
The Korean Thyroid Association is a representative "multidisciplinary society" composed of departments such as internal medicine, surgery, otolaryngology, radiology, nuclear medicine, and pathology. Since its founding in 2008, it has made great progress through member unity and academic exchange.
President Kang graduated from Chonnam National University Medical School and ranked first in the 55th National Medical Licensing Examination.
He has extensive experience in hospital administration, having served as Director of Clinical Support, Director of Medical Quality Management, and Director of Planning at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital. He has been actively involved in academic society activities, serving as a director and vice president of the Education Committee of the Korean Endocrine Society, and as a director of the Training Committee and Clinical Guideline Development Committee of the Korean Thyroid Association.
