View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 31st that it will conduct a special sale of Onnuri gift certificates from September 1 to 17 in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
The paper-type Onnuri gift certificates will be sold with an increased discount rate from the previous 5% to 10%, and can be purchased at 16 commercial banks including NongHyup Bank.
The discount purchase limit per individual is 500,000 KRW, and to receive the discount benefit, buyers must bring an ID and purchase with cash. However, since the special discount sale of paper-type Onnuri gift certificates is conducted on a scale of 300 billion KRW, it is expected to end early once the limit is exhausted.
The mobile Onnuri gift certificates will be sold with a 10% discount rate applied until the end of this year to promote usage, and during this Chuseok special discount sale period, the monthly discount purchase limit per individual will be raised from the previous 500,000 KRW to 1,000,000 KRW.
The mobile Onnuri gift certificates, which are convenient for purchasing and using gift certificates, can be purchased through 21 banks and simple payment apps including NongHyup (All One Bank) and CheckPay.
Meanwhile, for amounts used to purchase holiday gifts and ancestral rites items at traditional markets (via card or cash receipt), a 40% income deduction benefit is available.
