Kim Jong-un Meets Youth from 'Challenging Areas' to Encourage... "Fully Support, Proud of Them"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, met with and encouraged young people who volunteered to advance into difficult areas and took commemorative photos with them.
The Korean Central News Agency reported on the 31st, "Comrade Kim Jong-un met with young people who volunteered to enter the difficult and challenging sectors of socialist construction on the 30th and started a new chapter in their lives, blessing their bright futures."
General Secretary Kim said, "I fully support and am proud of the young people who, realizing the gratitude they owe to the Mother Party and the socialist system that embraced and nurtured them, have made a new start in life at the most difficult and challenging posts for the prosperity and strength of the homeland."
He continued, "The fact that many young people like these, faithful to the call of the Party and the revolution, are emerging is a manifestation of the superiority of our country's socialist system," adding, "For a revolutionary Party, having reliable successors, reserves, and a promising young main force is the greatest pride, capital, and asset incomparable to anything else."
He urged Party organizations and youth league organizations, "They must warmly care for the work and lives of the young people who have advanced into their respective regions and units, become a cane when they struggle, willingly push and lead them when their steps slow down, so that they can receive the most excellent diploma of life."
The young people who volunteered for the difficult areas also attended this year's Youth Day event and took separate commemorative photos with General Secretary Kim. Accompanying him at the encouragement event were Jo Yong-won, Secretary of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party, Secretary Ri Il-hwan, Director Ri Du-sung, and Chairman Mun Chol of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League.
