Jangseong-gun Installs Temporary Screening Clinics at Highway Rest Areas
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] On the 28th, Jangseong-gun installed a temporary COVID-19 screening clinic at Baekyangsa Rest Area on the highway toward Suncheon and began full-scale operation.
Anyone can get tested for free, and the results will be individually notified via text message to their mobile phones 1 to 2 days after the test date.
Among the total 26 confirmed COVID-19 cases that occurred in Jangseong-gun this year, 18 cases, which is well over half, are related to inflows from the metropolitan area.
Accordingly, with the Chuseok holiday approaching, the county expects an increase in population inflow from other regions and local residents visiting other areas, and decided to operate the temporary screening clinic at Baekyangsa Rest Area to effectively prevent the spread of infection.
Jangseong-gun expects that with the installation of this temporary screening clinic, highway users entering Jangseong will be able to check their infection status early, preventing the virus from spreading to family, acquaintances, and others.
Yoo Doo-seok, the mayor of Jangseong-gun, said, "The nationwide spread of COVID-19 is severe, and we strongly recommend refraining from visiting hometowns and traveling to other regions as much as possible," adding, "Visitors who inevitably come to Jangseong are encouraged to use the temporary screening clinic at Baekyangsa Rest Area to quickly and conveniently check their infection status."
