[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry's national development project 'Guide Audition' results have been announced. This audition serves as a preview to convey the message of what national development ideas should look like ahead of the final deadline of the national development project (September 24).
On the 29th, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced through the Idea League broadcast, the mid-term audition of the 'National Development Project Contest,' that "from June 7 to July 14, over a month, 307 corporate sector ideas were received, and 24 teams passed the document screening."
Notably, the projects that caught the attention of the six judges were seven teams: Dangsineui Tanso Baljaguk (Your Carbon Footprint), Dr.Knight, Delivery Container Circulation Business, Sasohan Tonghwa (Minor Call - dementia prevention solution), Industrial Site Safety Keeper, SME Sales Receivables Platform, and Let's Compliment. Among these, the non-face-to-face medical service Dr.Knight, which can coexist with the medical community, and the dementia prevention solution Sasohan Tonghwa tied for first place.
The judges included Choi Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Kim Taek-jin, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of NCSoft; Lee Han-joo, CEO of Bespin Global; Lee Seung-gun, CEO of Toss; Lee Nari, CEO of HeyJoyce; and Park Hee-eun, Partner at Altos Ventures.
The top 7 project, Dangsineui Tanso Baljaguk (An Hyundo, 42), proposes creating a reward system for practicing carbon neutrality. Companies produce eco-friendly products, and consumers accumulate mileage through purchasing these products to receive cashback or tax reduction benefits, forming a kind of 'national carbon neutrality network.' Chairman Choi said, "I believe this is something that must be done," but also mentored that "the feasibility of concretizing processes such as monetization is important."
Dr.Knight (Ok Jin-ho, 33) suggests building a non-face-to-face medical prescription platform for minor illnesses during hours when hospitals are closed. It includes periodic management for chronic patients and information on night hospital operations, reflecting a desire to continue experimenting with telemedicine in the post-COVID era. CEO Lee expressed interest, saying, "The structure was cleverly designed to enable social consensus among the medical and pharmaceutical industries," and "Start a business. I will invest." This idea scored 527 points (out of 600), tying for first place.
The Delivery Container Circulation Business (Lee Jin-man, 37) addresses the reality that 845 tons of plastic delivery containers are discarded daily, proposing that franchises take the lead in using stainless steel containers by establishing a hygienic washing system and incentives for container collection.
Sasohan Tonghwa (Lee Bong-ju, 42) is a version that combines video calls with the K-MMSE test (a reliable dementia diagnostic test). It claims that dementia diagnosis and prevention are possible through minor calls between parents and children. CCO Kim praised the good intention of using advanced technology for good but advised, "Parents might feel burdened by calls like dementia tests." This idea also received the same score (527 points) as Dr.Knight.
Industrial Site Safety Keeper (Hong Jung-woo, 34) is a system for introducing safety black boxes in industrial sectors. It proposes using black box recordings on-site for accident prevention and implementing an AI-based automatic anomaly reporting function. CEO Lee said, "Not only technical elements but also social norms are important," adding, "This is an issue we must definitely discuss."
SME Sales Receivables Platform (Yang Myung-jin, 50) is a project to create a digital sales receivables payment platform to ease the financial bottlenecks of small and medium enterprises. CEO Lee, who has helped start over 300 companies, strongly sympathized with resolving SME financial difficulties and responded with the highest score.
Let's Compliment (Park Se-hwa, 31) proposes establishing a metaverse-based compliment platform to spread good stories and accumulate national trust capital through this. Chairman Choi said, "Giving compliments means society is moving in a good direction," but advised, "However, false information must not be spread, causing trust to collapse."
Currently, about 1,800 entries have been submitted to this contest. The corporate sector accounts for about 750 entries, the university sector about 100, and the general sector about 950. By theme, the entries were tallied as follows: Startups and jobs (21%), ESG (19%), health and safety (15%), regional development and small business support (11%), low birthrate and aging (9%), culture and tourism (9%).
Woo Tae-hee, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "As citizens' ideas are gradually revealed and convergence occurs, the 'Idea League' is now officially beginning," and expressed his ambition, "We will also create an idea marketplace so that small ideas can bring about big changes."
