According to Cuckoo Electronics on the 28th, the company conducted an encore broadcast of the ultra-compact premium rice cooker 'Twin Pressure Petit' on Hyundai Home Shopping on the 21st of this month, selling about 6,000 units within an hour. This figure is 213% higher than the company's initial sales target. Through this broadcast, Cuckoo Electronics set a new record for the highest sales performance in its home shopping broadcasts.
Earlier in March this year, Cuckoo Electronics introduced the Twin Pressure Petit on Hyundai Home Shopping's flagship program 'Wang Young-eun's Talk Together.' At that time, the company sold about 5,500 units within an hour, marking the best home shopping broadcast performance in Cuckoo Electronics' history.
The background of this 'sold-out' streak lies in the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. As time spent at home lengthened, demand increased for ultra-compact rice cookers that can cook small amounts of rice, mainly among small households such as single-person households and newlyweds. Additionally, the rise in purchases of ultra-compact rice cookers as second appliances for households of four or more, to be used for various dishes, also appears to have influenced this trend.
Broadcaster Wang Young-eun, regarded as a 'veteran' in the home shopping field, is also credited with contributing. According to the company, Wang Young-eun received favorable reviews by explaining the usage scenarios of 3-person rice cookers like the Twin Pressure Petit with concrete examples and making it easy to understand key product features such as the super-fast cooking function.
