[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration (Commissioner Jang Daegyo) announced on the 27th that it has selected 17 Baeknyeon Gage (Century-old Stores) and 17 Baeknyeon Sogongin (Century-old Artisans) to spread successful models of long-established small business owners.
As a result, the number of Baeknyeon Gage in the Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeju regions has increased to 107, and Baeknyeon Sogongin to 45.
'Baeknyeon Gage' refers to small business owners and SMEs who sustain and develop their unique businesses over a long period through management secrets such as single-minded management and focused management for continuous survival. 'Baeknyeon Sogongin' refers to excellent artisans based on skilled technology who practice sustainable management in one field with craftsmanship spirit.
For example, 'Saesongjeong,' located in Gwangsan-gu, has been operating a tteokgalbi restaurant specializing in one path for 35 years, holding over 30 domestic and international competition awards, including 1st place in the tteokgalbi category at the International Food Competition and 1st place at the Gwangju Kimchi Festival as a master of traditional Korean cuisine.
The selected businesses can improve their aging business environments and receive online sales channel support responding to the non-face-to-face economy through the 'Baeknyeon Gage and Baeknyeon Sogongin Growth Support Project.'
Commissioner Jang Daegyo said, "In the severe management difficulties after COVID-19, spreading successful models such as Baeknyeon Gage and Baeknyeon Sogongin, who continue operations with long experience and know-how, is more important," adding, "We will spare no policy support for continuous growth."
