[2022 Early Admission] Sookmyung Women's University Specifies CSAT Elective Subjects, Interview Ratio Set at 40%
Sookmyung Women's University will select 1,215 students, accounting for 56.3% of the 2022 academic year admission quota, through early admission. In accordance with the integrated CSAT, elective subjects for minimum CSAT score requirements are designated by recruitment unit. Most departments in the natural sciences require applicants to take either Geometry or Calculus as the math elective subject.
Among the early admission types, 533 students will be recruited through the Student Record Comprehensive Screening, divided into 'Sookmyung Talent I (Document Type)' and 'Sookmyung Talent II (Interview Type)'. The Sookmyung Talent I (Document Type) admits 339 students solely based on document review. The Sookmyung Talent II (Interview Type) admits 194 students, and from this year, the interview weighting has been adjusted from 60% to 40% to reduce the burden of interview preparation on applicants.
Admissions for the College of Pharmacy freshmen are also underway. Among the Student Record Comprehensive Screening, 15 students will be admitted through the Sookmyung Talent II (Interview Type). In the first stage, document screening is conducted, and in the second stage, interviews based on submitted documents and provided prompts are held. The College of Pharmacy will recruit 3 students through the Regional Balanced Selection. The minimum CSAT score requirement is a total grade of 5 or less across 3 of 4 subjects (including mandatory math; only the highest grade in the inquiry subject is considered).
The Equal Opportunity Admission among the Student Record Comprehensive Screening will select a total of 80 students, slightly increased from 67 last year.
A total of 227 students will be recruited through the Essay Excellence Admission. The selection elements and weighting remain the same as last year, with 70% from the essay test and 30% from the student record. The minimum CSAT score requirement has been relaxed to a total grade of 5 or less across 2 of 4 subjects (Korean, Math, English, Inquiry) compared to last year. The total length and number of essay questions have been adjusted: 2 questions for humanities and 3 questions for natural sciences.
