First Lady Kim Jung-sook Visits the National Museum of Korea with the First Lady of Colombia
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] On the 26th, First Lady Kim Jung-sook, wife of President Moon Jae-in, visited the National Museum of Korea together with Maria Juliana Ruiz, wife of Colombian President Iv?n Duque, who was on a state visit.
First Lady Kim and Mrs. Ruiz first visited the Digital Immersive Video Hall inside the museum, where they participated in the interactive content "Library of Dreams, Chaekgado" by selecting bookshelves and choosing items. They also viewed "The King's Procession, Together with the People," a 3D representation of King Jeongjo's procession to Hwaseong during the Joseon Dynasty.
Additionally, First Lady Kim and Mrs. Ruiz toured various cultural assets including the Gyeongcheonsa Ten-story Stone Pagoda. During the tour, First Lady Kim explained the Silla gold crown, saying, "Colombia also developed a golden civilization, but Korea's gold craftsmanship was very advanced."
Following this, First Lady Kim examined representative ceramics from the Goryeo and Joseon periods and shared a conversation. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Korea-Colombia diplomatic relations next year, a special exhibition of Korean ceramics is scheduled to be held at the Colombian Gold Museum from December this year to May next year.
Mrs. Ruiz, who was warmly received by First Lady Kim, wrote in the guestbook, "I am pleased to visit this grand and beautiful museum and have learned a lot during my visit to Korea. I am happy to experience Korean culture. Thank you."
