Daegu City Councilor Bae Ji-sook Attends Roundtable on 'Improving Social Workers' Treatment'

The roundtable was attended by Council member Bae Jisuk, Kim Seokpyo, president of the Daegu Metropolitan Social Workers Association, Park Jaeil, director of Yeongnam Ilbo, and Kwon Sehun, Ph.D. at the Kyungpook National University Law Research Institute.
At the roundtable, Council member Bae explained the full revision of the "Ordinance on the Treatment and Status Improvement of Social Workers, etc." She also pointed out the issue that despite the ordinance being enacted in 2012, the perceived improvement in treatment among field workers remains low, and continued discussions on the institutional support needed.

Council member Bae said, "We have sought and worked on ways for vulnerable groups in our society, such as women, children, and youth, not to be marginalized but to firmly establish themselves as members of society," adding, "Going forward, I will pay more attention to policy development for children and youth who find it difficult to voice their opinions and to the rights and interests of the vulnerable."
