China: "Japan Must Not Discharge Nuclear Plant Contaminated Water Arbitrarily"

China has repeatedly urged Japan not to discharge contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the sea about 1 km away from the plant before reaching an agreement with neighboring countries.
Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a regular briefing on the 26th, "China urges Japan to immediately withdraw its wrong decision, respond to the voices of the international community and neighboring countries, and fulfill its international obligations."
Spokesperson Wang emphasized, "Japan must not arbitrarily discharge contaminated water before fully consulting with stakeholders and international organizations and reaching an agreement."
