The Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters announced on the 26th that more than 130 volunteer firefighters from the Gyeongbuk Volunteer Fire Brigade Association and city and county volunteer firefighters visited the severely damaged areas of Jukjang-myeon and Guryongpo in Pohang caused by Typhoon No. 12, conducting tasks such as washing flooded household items and removing contaminated flooring and wallpaper.
They are focusing on removing soil and debris swept into the village and securing passageways for residents by cleaning and organizing roads in Jukjang-myeon, where embankments and roads were washed away by heavy rain.
Residents, facing more severe typhoon damage than expected, are relying on the dedicated volunteer activities of the volunteer firefighters.
