KB Kookmin Bank and SK Telecom Sign Business Agreement to Develop AI Banking Service
Advancing Liiv Based on NUGU (누구)
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with SK Telecom to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) banking service. Through this agreement, the bank plans to enhance Liiv based on SK Telecom's NUGU platform.
The business agreement was made to apply various AI services such as ▲voice-based financial services including balance inquiry and remittance ▲weather, emotional conversations, and encyclopedic information on KB Kookmin Bank’s Liiv platform using NUGU as the base.
In particular, by applying a separate voice activation command exclusively for Liiv, the bank aims to expand the customer experience for Generation Z into new areas and provide differentiated customer value. SK Telecom’s NUGU is a voice recognition-based AI platform widely used in daily life, education, shopping, and finance.
KB Kookmin Bank’s simple banking app Liiv is undergoing a redesign aimed at becoming a specialized financial platform for Generation Z. It will be enhanced into a financial playground where users can easily experience finance without feeling it is difficult or complicated.
Seong Chae-hyun, Head of the Personal Customer Group at KB Kookmin Bank, said, “With this agreement, KB Kookmin Bank will offer Generation Z customers a new financial experience through innovative AI-based digital services. Liiv will establish itself as the next-generation financial app for Generation Z and serve as a stepping stone for KB Kookmin Bank to leap forward as the number one financial platform.”
