Jeonbuk Province Opens Applications for Minimum Price Guarantee System for Agricultural Products
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 25th that it will accept applications for green onions, autumn radishes, and autumn cabbages, which are among the target items of the 2021 Minimum Price Guarantee System for Agricultural Products (hereinafter referred to as the Major Agricultural Products Price Stabilization Support Project), until September 30.
The Major Agricultural Products Price Stabilization Support Project is a representative project of Jeollabuk-do's Samrak Agricultural Policy, aimed at establishing a management safety net for farmers cultivating open-field crops with high price volatility in the market and protecting small and medium-sized farmers with weak management foundations.
The application items are three products: green onions, autumn radishes, and autumn cabbages.
Green onions are targeted throughout all 14 cities and counties in the province, while autumn radishes and autumn cabbages are targeted in 12 cities and counties excluding Gochang-gun and Buan-gun.
Farmers who wish to participate in the project must sign a shipment contract with the city/county integrated marketing organization or local agricultural cooperative and submit an application form to the township, town, or neighborhood office where the farmland is located or to the local agricultural cooperative.
A Jeonbuk Province official said, “Green onions, autumn radishes, and autumn cabbages are items with greater price volatility than any other products,” adding, “We hope that all farmers cultivating green onions, autumn radishes, and autumn cabbages apply for the project within the period to prepare for price declines.”
