Lotte Confectionery's 'Oing Pocha Kui Oing Chip' Surpasses 1.5 Million Packs Sold in Just 2 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Lotte Confectionery announced on the 25th that its ‘Oing Pocha Gui Oing Chip’ surpassed cumulative sales of 1.5 million packs in just over two months since its launch. Converted by time, this means about 17 packs were sold per minute, and by length, it amounts to approximately 420 km, a distance that can reach from Seoul to Busan.
The company cited the unique product concept, taste, and texture as the reasons behind the popularity of ‘Oing Pocha Gui Oing Chip.’ This snack is a new concept that combines the advantages of protein snacks and fish jerky snacks, allowing consumers to enjoy the characteristics of two different types of snack products at once. ‘Oing Pocha Gui Oing Chip’ offers the distinctive texture of fish jerky snacks along with a savory, slightly salty flavor and the umami unique to seafood.
Meanwhile, ‘Oing Pocha Gui Oing Chip’ uses plant-based protein, which contains less fat compared to animal protein, making it a relatively light snack. Each pack (100g) contains 12g of protein, equivalent to the protein content of two eggs, making it a high-protein snack.
