Discussion on Installing CCTV to Prevent Crimes Against Socially Vulnerable Groups and Agricultural Products
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the morning of the 24th, the Gwangyang Police Station in Jeonnam announced that it held a meeting with the chairman and members of the Police Development Council at the police station.
Due to COVID-19 social distancing, this was the first meeting held since the appointment of the police chief, during which they shared the current security status, discussed ways to activate cooperative policing, and gathered public opinion.
At the meeting, they discussed collaboration matters of the Police Development Council, including protection measures for socially vulnerable groups in the jurisdiction. They also consulted on the installation and operation of solar-powered CCTVs to prevent various accidents involving elderly dementia patients (missing or runaway) and to prevent theft of agricultural products during the harvest season, in line with the first policy of the Jeonnam Autonomous Police Committee’s Life Safety Division, ‘Prevention of Crime Victimization of the Elderly.’
