On the 23rd, Go Yong-jin, the senior spokesperson of the Democratic Party, said in a written briefing, "The illegal activities of People Power Party lawmakers include one case of suspected real estate name trust, two cases of suspected tax evasion such as illegal gift transfer, four cases of suspected violations of the Land Compensation Act, Building Act, and Special Act on Public Housing, and six cases of suspected violation of the Farmland Act, totaling 13 cases." He added, "Now it is up to the People Power Party to make a decision. We hope they will take strict measures at a level that the public can accept regarding the real estate speculation allegations of their affiliated lawmakers."
He continued, "Representative Lee Jun-seok has repeatedly declared that he would take stronger measures against speculation allegations involving his party members than the Democratic Party of Korea. Since he emphasized the 'zero tolerance principle,' public attention is inevitably focused on the People Power Party's decision on the sanctions."

He further stated, "We hope that this time the People Power Party will not go against public sentiment by trying to find a way out by cautiously looking the other way. The People Power Party has a history of evading the parliamentary real estate investigation several times by delaying the submission of consent forms or avoiding the investigation to buy time." He added, "In that regard, the People Power Party's public declarations should not become misstatements or empty words. We expect them to show the image of the main opposition party that keeps its promises."
