[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters has issued Emergency Level 1 as of 6 p.m. in response to the northward approach of Typhoon No. 12 ‘Omais’ and established a response system.
On the 23rd, the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters announced that it held an emergency fire commanders video conference in the headquarters' video strategy meeting room in the afternoon.
The video conference was presided over by Fire Headquarters Chief Ma Jaeyoon, with about 130 participants including the fire chiefs of the headquarters and 18 city and county fire stations, as well as heads of various departments and teams.
They focused on discussing urgent life rescue and damage prevention measures by agency according to the expected typhoon path, and also checked the emergency staff mobilization system and employee safety management during field activities.
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters has issued Emergency Level 1, mobilizing one-fifth of the available firefighting forces from the headquarters and each fire station to take proactive measures.
Chief Ma Jaeyoon urged, “Please strengthen patrols and response readiness in areas prone to landslides and construction sites in preparation for the typhoon,” and added, “Maintain a thorough multi-dispatch response system to prepare for simultaneous multiple reports.”
