[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] Approximately 5,400 Army personnel have been deployed for the Korea Combat Training Center (KCTC) exercise. The continuous 4-day day-and-night bilateral engagement training is being conducted with two brigades wearing MILES equipment and engaging each other.
According to the Army, the troops participating in the training belong to the 3rd Division Hyesanjin Brigade Combat Team and the 5th Division Eagles Brigade Combat Team. They have been training at the Army Combat Training Center in Inje, Gangwon Province, from the 17th to the 27th.
The Army stated that this is the first time such a training method has been applied, aiming to involve more troops in a single exercise to provide training opportunities to more units. Previously, training was conducted only by having participating units engage with the specialized opposing force units belonging to the Army Combat Training Center.
