Wando's Daughter Pro Golfer Lee Somi Achieves 2nd Season Win After Intense Battle

According to Wando County on the 17th, Lee So-mi secured her third career win by winning her first title last October, the KLPGA Tour Lotte Rent-a-Car Women's Open in April, and this recent tournament, establishing herself as a leading player on the KLPGA.
In particular, during this tournament, she staged a comeback drama by shooting one eagle and six birdies without any bogeys in the final round, moving up from a tie for 7th place, three strokes behind the leader.
Lee So-mi, a native of Wando like the living legend of Korean golf, golfer Choi Kyung-ju, and a junior from Choi Kyung-ju’s elementary school, was appointed as a promotional ambassador for Wando County.
Lee So-mi said, “I am proud to be able to share such joyful news shortly after being appointed as a promotional ambassador for Wando County.”
She added, “I practiced putting a lot before this tournament, and to build stamina, I ate a lot of Wando abalone,” and said, “I hope many people eat the healthy Wando abalone and overcome the summer heat.”
County Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “I sincerely congratulate Lee So-mi, a proud daughter of Wando, on her valuable victory,” and added, “Her win will be a great comfort to our citizens exhausted by COVID-19, and we will cheer together with the residents so she can continue to perform well.”
Meanwhile, Lee So-mi, who has steadily improved her world ranking, has added competing on the Olympic stage wearing the Taegeuk mark to her ‘bucket list,’ raising expectations for her future endeavors.
