Jeonju City Creates 'Nollaun Yesulteo' at Seonosong Art Village
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 17th that it will establish the ‘Nollaun Yesulteo’ to support artists' creative activities at Seonosong Art Village by December this year.
Jeonju City plans to remodel a five-story building within Seonosong Art Village by the end of this year with a total project cost of 1.2 billion KRW, including 600 million KRW in national funding, to create the ‘Nollaun Yesulteo,’ an art collaboration creation support center.
This place will be equipped with △creative activity spaces △exhibition spaces △cultural cafes △meeting rooms △lecture rooms to support stable creative activities for artists and to provide cultural and artistic enjoyment for citizens.
Additionally, various equipment necessary for creative activities will also be provided.
Jeonju City plans to make this place a cultural hub of Seonosong Art Village by operating various contents that can revitalize local culture and arts and linking it with the nearby ‘Ddeutbak-ui Misulgwan’ (Unexpected Art Museum).
Since 2014, Jeonju City has been transforming Seonmi Village, a red-light district, into Seonosong Art Village, a space for women's rights and culture and arts.
Accordingly, △Mulgyeol Seosa (Art Bookstore) △Nosong News Museum (Village History Museum) △Ddeutbak-ui Misulgwan (Art Exhibition Hall) have been established here, and recently, a pop-up store where visitors can experience performances, crafts, upcycling, and cooking classes has also opened.
