Ottogi Launches New Product 'X.O. Gunmandu Gogi Deumpuk'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Ottogi announced on the 17th that it has launched a new frozen dumpling product, ‘X.O. Gunmandu Gogi Deumpuk’ (X.O. Pan-fried Dumplings with Extra Meat).
As consumer demand for convenience foods has increased recently, the frozen dumpling market has shown continuous growth. According to a survey conducted by market research firm Open Survey in March, consumers identified ‘gunmandu (pan-fried dumplings)’ as their most preferred type of frozen dumpling (58.4%), and 63% of respondents reported consuming gunmandu ‘at least once a week.’
Reflecting this demand, Ottogi is targeting consumer tastes with the newly introduced ‘X.O. Gunmandu Gogi Deumpuk.’ This product applies a differentiated ingredient blend and dough preparation method compared to existing pan-fried dumplings, using domestically produced glutinous rice flour to create a crispier dumpling skin. Instead of glass noodles, the filling is packed with domestically sourced pork seasoned with a special sauce and domestic vegetables, with a pork content of 27.3%, allowing consumers to enjoy a rich meaty juice in every bite.
