[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] A fire broke out in an apartment in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, resulting in the deaths of 4 out of 5 family members.
At around 1:40 a.m. on the 15th, a fire occurred in a 22-story apartment in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. The origin of the fire was on the 13th floor, where a grandmother, mother, two children, and father were present at the time. It was confirmed that four family members, except the father who was hospitalized with burns, died due to the fire.

Dozens of apartment residents evacuated due to the fire, and some were transported to the hospital after inhaling smoke. The fire was completely extinguished at around 3:06 a.m. after deploying about 40 fire trucks and 100 firefighters. Fire officials stated that they are investigating the exact cause of the fire, including the possibility of arson.
