"Watch Baseball and Get iPhone or PlayStation" LG Uplus Introduces 'U+Pro Baseball' Points System
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] LG Uplus announced on the 15th that it has established a point system to enhance the enjoyment of watching the Korean Baseball Series on its baseball service platform, ‘U+Pro Baseball.’
U+Pro Baseball is a baseball platform service where users can check KBO live broadcasts, each team’s game schedules, key player information, and popular highlights at a glance through a mobile application and web. It offers various features optimized for ‘home viewing,’ such as ▲simultaneous live viewing of 5 KBO games ▲position-specific videos ▲home close-up videos ▲stadium zoom-in (8K) ▲replays of key moments.
The newly established system is a program where users can accumulate points through three methods until the end of the 2021 Korean professional baseball season and receive various gifts in return. Customers can earn points by ▲predicting and correctly guessing the outcomes of five games held daily, ▲successfully completing various daily missions provided, or ▲inviting friends to use the U+Pro Baseball service. It is also possible to accumulate overlapping points by completing all three methods in one day.
There is no limit to the amount of points that can be accumulated daily. Users receive 100 points per game for correctly predicting the winning team, and if they guess all five games correctly in a day, they receive an additional 500 points, totaling 1,000 points. Daily missions, such as watching highlights and viewing key scenes, can earn up to 200 points by completing two missions per day. For friend invitations, 1,000 points are awarded per person invited, with no limit on the number of invites, allowing unlimited point accumulation.
Customers can redeem points for various gifts. After the Korean Series ends, LG Uplus will present customers with relatively high points with full packages from Apple (MacBook, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods) and Samsung Electronics (Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds Pro), Fun game packages (PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Oculus Quest), and more. Additionally, GoPro Hero cameras, department store gift certificates, and chicken sets will also be provided.
Um Ju-sik, head of LG Uplus Baseball Service Office, said, “With the KBO resuming after the Olympics, the full second half of the season has begun. We hope that through the newly established system of U+Pro Baseball, baseball fans will enjoy watching the KBO even more during the remaining period.”
