The dementia family healing self-help group is a meeting aimed at families of dementia patients, providing a channel to share daily experiences and communicate with each other, thereby reducing psychological burdens and preventing social isolation through information exchange among patient families.
Through the self-help group, patient families received caregiving information and had time to overcome prejudices and fears about dementia.
Additionally, through craft classes and suicide prevention life guardian education, participants reflected on themselves and learned ways to cope with stress, supporting all dementia families to lead healthy lives through emotional and psychological activities.
Governor Kim San said, “We will expand various services for dementia patients and their families to create a communication platform for sharing broad information and experiences, and strive to form a positive consensus on dementia.”
