Gyeongbuk Provincial Agricultural Research Institute Graduates 29 in Advanced Small-Scale Farmer Program
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] On the 12th, the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services held a completion ceremony for the '2021 Small but Strong Farmer (Gangsonong) Advanced Course' at the Gyeongbuk Farmers' Hall, attended by about 30 trainees and related personnel, concluding the 8-week training program.
The Small but Strong Farmer Advanced Course was established to strengthen the competitiveness of Gangsonong as excellent agricultural management entities leading agricultural and rural development, and to lay the foundation for the sustainable growth of Gyeongbuk agriculture through nurturing key personnel.
The trainees were selected from 29 applicants who were farmers having completed the Gangsonong specialized course at city and county agricultural technology centers or executives of Gangsonong autonomous groups and farmers' organizations who wished to participate.
From June 24 to August 12, every Thursday for 8 sessions, the program covered ▲ agricultural product design marketing ▲ practical agricultural accounting ▲ business plan writing, and other educational programs necessary for establishing mid- to long-term business strategies for management entities.
In Gyeongbuk, aiming to foster 'Small but Strong Farmers' (Gangsonong), since 2011, they have supported management improvement practice education, customized consulting for farms, and Gangsonong business organization for joint goal implementation, nurturing 11,158 Gangsonong farmers and 139 autonomous groups to date.
