China Surpasses 1.8 Billion COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Amid Delta Variant Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] As the Chinese government closely monitors the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in China surpassed 1.8 billion on the 11th.
According to local media, the National Health Commission of China announced that a total of 1,800,920,000 vaccine doses had been administered nationwide as of the previous day.
Earlier, despite controversies over the efficacy of domestically produced Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines, China announced that 1,637,395,000 vaccine doses had been administered nationwide by the 30th of last month.
